The definition of Human Capital first appeared in literature in XX century in manuscripts of American scientists Theodore Schultz and Gary Becker.

Human Capital is a stock of knowledge, skills, ideas and motivations, i.e. creative, intellectual resource of a company’s growth. That is why investment in people is the investment in business growth to increase its constructability, creativity and innovation.

According to Becker, investment in human capital in the USA makes a higher rate of return than investment in securities. In his research Becker estimated human behavior as rational and reasonable, using such definitions as rarity, worth, alternative costs.

For building up Human Capital theory basics Theodore Schultz in 1979 and Gary Becker in 1992 were nominated Nobel Prize in economics.
